Q. Why call JFCS for counseling?

A. We have trained, experienced staff who have treated most presenting problems and have worked with all age groups across the life span, from small children to the elderly.

Q. What counseling services does JFCS offer?

A. We offer individual, group, couple, or family therapy, depending on need.

Q. What can I expect in a counseling session?

A. Counseling sessions are confidential. Your counselor will first do an assessment with you to identify your specific need. Together you will create a plan to address the concerns that brought you in for counseling. This plan might include working with you individually, referring you to an appropriate group, bringing in other family members, referring you to a parent coach or, identifying other community resources. We are focused on quickly targeting the appropriate area of your life and helping you to feel better as quickly as possible.

Q. What can I expect from my counselor?

A. Above all, you can expect to be treated with respect, compassion, and understanding. Beyond that, you can expect that your counselor will be able to help you identify ways to solve the problem or problems, which brought you in. You will actively work together to find the solutions that will help you achieve your counseling goals. Our counselors are trained professionals who have extensive experience working with diverse problems and populations.
