As JFCS’ Disability Support Services consultant, Kiel (he/him) helps support clients, their allies and community members seeking specific disability services.
Kiel earned a bachelor’s from Lewis & Clark College in psychology and a master’s in Interdisciplinary Studies with coursework concentration in sociology, psychology and disability-related topics from DePaul University in Chicago. His second master’s is from Syracuse University’s Department of Cultural Foundations of Education with an emphasis in Disability Studies.
Kiel also received a certificate of advanced study enabling him to teach disability-related classes. He has presented at national and international conferences and has submitted papers to conferences on disability-related issues that impact society.
Martial arts is a passion of Kiel’s; he has earned two black belts in two different martial arts disciplines, and he likes writing, theater, and listening to music. Taking walks in the park and seeing films also top his list.
