Marketing and Events Coordinator
Jana Charl (she/her) supports JFCS’ communications, digital content, outreach materials, and event coordination. She brings more than two decades of experience in design, communications, event planning, and community outreach to help further JFCS’ mission and values of dignity, belonging, and compassion.
In addition to her work in marketing and events, Jana is an internationally exhibited multidisciplinary artist. A passionate storyteller and collector of overlooked materials, she transforms salvaged objects into mixed-media paintings, sculptures, and installations that explore sustainability, memory, and the stories embedded in everyday things. Her artistic perspective enriches her communications work, helping her create meaningful connections and tell the stories that bring JFCS’ mission to life.
Jana moved to Portland in June 2025 and, as a relative newcomer, enjoys exploring Forest Park trails, art galleries and museums, and biking along the Eastbank Esplanade.
