What a night! Thanks to all who joined us for an evening of connection, celebration, and community as we came together in support of the vital work of JFCS.
Brighter Together was not just an event—it was a joyful, heartfelt gathering that truly lived up to its name. And what a beautiful evening it was. With the sun shining and laughter flowing from indoors to the patio, our community came together across generations to celebrate connection, compassion, and the vital work of JFCS.
We are so grateful to Susan Greenberg and Marty Soloway for their warm welcome, and to Eva, a local Holocaust survivor, for sharing her powerful and deeply moving story. Her reflections on arriving in Portland in the 1950s and her long relationship with JFCS were a poignant reminder of the impact this community can have across a lifetime.
A special thank you to our incredible event committee—Nicole Dorfman, Robin McCoy, and Eden Swartz—for leading such a meaningful and successful Mitzvah Moment. Thanks to your generosity, we raised critical funds to support the individuals and families who rely on JFCS every day.
The evening was made even more special by our wonderful tasting partners—Creo Chocolate, Portland’s most award-winning chocolatier; Dairy Hill Ice Cream, a beloved family-run favorite; Eunice Chiweshe Goldstein Winery, led by Oregon’s first Black female winery owner and winemaker; and Kachka, Portland’s iconic restaurant celebrating the flavors of the former Soviet Union through a Pacific Northwest lens.
We also were treated to beautiful live music from Tim Connell and Sean Watson, who created an atmosphere that was as vibrant as it was welcoming.
To our presenting sponsor, Martha Soltesz, all our generous sponsors, longtime supporters, and those who are newly part of the JFCS community—thank you. Your support makes everything we do possible.
There’s still time to participate in our Mitzvah Moment! Every gift helps us continue providing essential services with dignity and care.
We hope you enjoy these photos capturing such a special night. Thank you for being part of this community and for helping us shine brighter—together.
