A Community Reception with KAVOD

Tuesday, September 1

4:30 pm – 6:00 pm

at Oregon Jewish Museum

724 NW Davis St, Portland

Join JFCS and OJMCHE for a special reception to meet John and Amy Israel Pregulman, co-founders of KAVOD, and learn how their organization is helping Holocaust Survivors across the country live with dignity and honor.

The reception will also feature a special display of memoirs, paintings, photographs, poetry, and other personal reflections created by Holocaust Survivors in our community, offering guests an opportunity to learn more about the remarkable individuals whose lives and legacies we are honored to support.

KAVOD is a valued partner of JFCS and our Holocaust Survivor Services program, which supports more than 70 local Survivors.

Come hear about KAVOD’s mission, the impact of this partnership, and how, together, we’re helping ensure Survivors receive the care and support they deserve.

Light refreshments will be served.

Free and open to the community. Informational event—no solicitation. Please RSVP below by August 26.

About KAVOD

KAVOD was founded in 2015 after John and Amy Israel Pregulman learned that thousands of Holocaust Survivors in the United States were struggling to meet basic needs. Today, recent studies estimate that approximately 31,000 Holocaust Survivors remain in the U.S., and more than 30% live at or near poverty. Through emergency financial assistance and partnerships with local agencies, KAVOD helps Survivors age with dignity, security, and independence. 100% of every dollar donated to KAVOD goes directly to Holocaust Survivors.

In the Portland area, JFCS serves more than 70 Holocaust Survivors each year through case management, emergency financial assistance, homecare coordination, social connection, and other supportive services. KAVOD’s partnership helps JFCS respond when Survivors face unexpected financial emergencies that threaten their stability and well-being.
