Emily Canibano, M.Ed, MAT

MSW Intern

Emily (they/them), an MSW Intern at JFCS, is an MSW student with more than 20 years of experience working with children, parents, and families in educational, wellness, and community settings. Their background includes extensive work with children with diverse learning, developmental, and behavioral needs, as well as supporting parents through the many transitions of family life.

They take a person-centered, trauma-informed, strengths-based approach and are particularly interested in family relationships, neurodiversity, parenting, life transitions, and the connection between emotional well-being, relationships, and the body. They believe in creating a collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and develop practical ways to navigate challenges.

Their approach draws from their training in social work and education, along with decades of experience in yoga, somatic movement, and family-centered work.
